A woman appeared in private on a charge of serious assault at a weekend charity fund-raiser in Inverness.
Deborah Morren, 53, was detained in custody on Saturday night after an alleged incident at an event to raise money for the Highland Hospice at the Drumossie Hotel.
The Muir of Ord woman appeared on petition before Sheriff David Sutherland at the city’s Sheriff Court yesterday afternoon represented by Inverness solicitor John MacColl.
Morren made no plea or declaration, was committed for further examination and released on bail.
Morren is charged with assault to injury and disfigurement.
It is understood a woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital after police were called to the hotel which hosted a ‘Ness Factor’ talent show, organised by the Hospice.
It raised £75,000 for the Hospice.
