A coastguard helicopter has been launched in the search for a missing Inverness teenager.
Adam Mitchell, 18, went missing on Wednesday night but was last yesterday at noon.
Crews stepped up their search this afternoon as concerns for Adam’s welfare continue to grow.
Police confirmed previously that they had received a report a man of similar appearance who was seen in the company of a woman in the Reasurie Gardens area.
Mr Mitchell is described as 5ft 11ins in height, of stocky build with long mousy brown hair and a beard. When last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket, a denim vest, black jeans and boots.
The woman is described as in her late teens with multi-coloured hair.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police are increasingly concerned for Adam’s welfare and would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to make contact via 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if they wish to remain anonymous.”
