The 50-year-old was on foot on the B862 Dores road near Holm Roundabout in the outskirts of Inverness at about 9.45am on Tuesday. The incident involved a BMW 4×4. The casualty was initially taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but has since been transferred to Glasgow. Immediately after the incident police said he was in a “life-threatening conditon”. A spokeswoman for the force said he remained in a “critical” condition yesterday. The female driver of the BMW was uninjured. Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone who saw a man walking in the area around that time to make contact on 101.
