Police Scotland have hailed the decision to jail an Inverness drug dealer who was caught supplying cocaine worth more than £4,000.
Ricardo Colbridge, 24, of Aberdeen, was given a custodial sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday for drug offences committed in the Highland’s capital.
Officers from N Division’s Community Investigation Unit carried out an investigation into Mr Colbridge and identified him as being concerned in the supply of cocaine with a potential street value in excess of £4,000.
Detective Inspector Peter Mackenzie said: “We will not tolerate criminals who come into our area to be involved in the supply of harmful substances; we want to reassure the public that we will pursue and reported them by whatever means.
“We will continue to use resources and expertise available, whilst working closely with our partners to disrupt and remove the illegal drug supply and distribution networks, which bring misery into the communities within our cities, towns and villages.”
“Local residents are best placed to pick up on unusual or suspicious activity. This information is key to disrupting drug activity, helping to keep our local communities across the Highlands and Islands safe place to live and work.
“Anyone with concerns relating to drug misuse or suspicious behaviour is encouraged to contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.”
