A woman in her seventies had to be taken to hospital last night after being robbed of her handbag in Inverness.
The woman was approached at around 9.45pm last night on Telford Avenue in the Merkinch area before having her hand bag taken.
The suspect is believed to have ran off before the woman received help from passers-by.
Last night, eye witnesses reported seeing around four police units on Telford Avenue and the street being to be sealed off for some time.
The woman later received treatment at Raigmore hospital for minor injuries before being released.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 9.45pm last night a woman in her seventies was approached by a suspect on Telford Avenue before being robbed of her handbag.
“Officers were contacted by witnesses and attended the scene. The victim received treatment at Raigmore hospital for minor injuries and was later released.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t yet spoken to Police in urged to make contact via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
