This is the moment two rally drivers had a lucky escape in one of the Highlands’ most popular racing events.
The footage from this weekend’s Snowman Rally, shared online by CPL Motorsport Media, shows how the vehicle careered off the road before a log smashed through the windscreen.
In the video, the rear of the car can be seen slipping towards a steep bank before rolling over and heading towards the log.
Both the driver Tom Howie, 21, from North Kessock, and his colleague Charles MacKenzie escaped the crash unhurt but their 30-year-old Talbot Sunbeam racing car did suffer serious damage.
The Snowman Rally, named after the frosty conditions often experienced on the course, is the first even off the Scottish Rally Championship and is competed on forest roads in the Inverness area.
