A new cafe for carers is to be opened at a day centre in Inverness.
The Mackenzie Centre on Culduthel Road is working with Connecting Carers on the venture.
The “More About Carers (Mac’s) cafe” aims to provide a facility for carers to relax, meet fellow carers and take some time out to focus on themselves.
Centre manager Kathy Martin said: “We have been working closely with Connecting Carers to develop Mac’s and we are delighted to be able to support carers to have some time to unwind, meet friends and enjoy some light refreshment.
“We are holding an open day for all carers to come along and sample Mac’s.
“The cafe will feature a warm, friendly atmosphere for carers to take a well earned break for a couple of hours. A programme of events will be arranged based on what carers would like to do while they are at Mac’s.”
The open day is being held at 10am on Thursday, March 23, and the cafe will open every Tuesday morning between 10am and 12pm.
