Police have released descriptions of three men suspected of carrying out an armed raid on the home of an Inverness businessman.
Ronnie Dyce and members of his family were held at gunpoint before thieves stole a sum of money on Saturday evening.
It is understood that a firearm and hammers were used to threaten the family during the terrifying incident.
A police investigation has been ongoing since then – with a senior officer having previously said they believe the robbery to be “targeted”.
Yesterday police issued a detailed description of three men they are trying to trace in connection with the incident.
One of the men is described as being 5ft 8in tall and of athletic build.
A second is described as being “very slim” and standing at 6ft 7in.
The third suspect is described as being between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall, of large build and bearded.
All three were wearing dark trousers and similar dark blue fleeces during the incident.
Sources close to the Dyce family have revealed that the three men used masks and scarves to cover their faces during the robbery.
Detective Inspector Maggie Miller said: “We are continuing our inquiries are would ask that anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything unusual or suspicious contact us as soon as possible on 101.”
The incident unfolded at around 9.30pm on Saturday at the house on Oldtown Road.
Victim Mr Dyce owns Cafe V8 and scrap metal merchants HRL in the city.
His wife suffered minor injuries during the robbery.
The family suffered no lasting injury but a source described them as having been “terrified” by the ordeal.
It is understood that the businessman has offered a “substantial” reward for information leading to a conviction.
A large area around Oldtown Road was cordoned off immediately after the incident with police carrying out a thorough search of the surrounding area.
