A 21-year-old Inverness man who assaulted two policemen and racially abused restaurant staff was jailed for eight months yesterday.
Kurt Hercher, of Craigard Terrace, appeared from remand and admitted breaching a community payback order imposed for his racist comments and threats of violence.
He also admitted the two charges of assault. One occurred when he was arrested by police at the Spice Spot in Grant Street in 2013 and punched one officer three times.
The second offence occurred in March 2015 in Burnett Road Police Station when he kicked one officer and threatened two others.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood heard that Hercher had failed to appear in court to answer the charges and was not re-arrested until 18 months later in February this year.
