The works will begin the Lochardil area on Monday and will include temporary road closures. Work is expected to take four weeks. The project precedes plans for a 20mph limit across the area. Work will include installing a raised junction where Balnakyle and Laggan roads meet, and another at the junction of Ashie Road and Green Drive. A coloured surface will be laid along Burn Road and Lodge Road, which Highland Council say will “define a clear footway” on the narrow roads. There will also be a raised junction table on both Burn Road and Lodge Road. The 20mph limit will be put in place once the work is complete. The council says the new limit will improve the safety of the roads for all users but particularly all pupils wlaking to Inverness Royal Academy.
