Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a three-week-old girl in Inverness.
The child died after she was taken to Raigmore hospital yesterday afternoon.
She is from the Mackay Road area of Hilton in the city.
Police said the death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Brian Geddes said: “This is a tragic incident and we are carrying out a full investigation in order to establish the full circumstances.
