A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a lorry on a road in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to Essich Road at 5.30pm following reports of a crash.

The cyclist was transported to Raigmore Hospital where and the injuries have been described as serious.

The road was closed for several hours to allow an investigation to be carried out but has now reopened.
