A woman has been charged in connection with an attempted murder in Inverness.
The 23-year-old was initially charged by police following thefts from residential properties in the Assynt Place and Suilven Way areas yesterday.
The thefts happened between midnight and 5am but officers later recovered property that was taken from the scene.
However, police have now confirmed that these incidents are linked to an attempted murder in the Suilven Way area shortly after 5am and the 23-year-old woman has also been charged in connection with that incident.
Detective Inspector Peter Mackenzie said: “This is an extremely rare situation for Inverness but appreciate that it has caused concern in the community.
“We are taking this matter extremely seriously and I would like to thank the community for their assistance and patience while we carried out our enquiries.
“I can confirm that a 23-year-old woman has now been charged and she is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.”
