Two people were taken to hospital yesterday after a crash at one of the busiest junctions in Inverness.
A red Audi TT was involved in a collision with a timber lorry at the southbound slip road of the A9 and A96 at the Raigmore Interchange.
Police and ambulance services attended the scene after receiving the call at about 2.25pm yesterday.
It is understood that a women and a boy were taken to the city’s Raigmore Hospital for treatment following the incident.
The rear of the Audi appeared to have been damaged in the incident.
Drivers experienced delays following the collision, with southbound traffic coming on to the roundabout being down to a single lane, and queuing back on to the A9 Inverness to Perth road.
After the incident, witnesses said the lorry remained at the foot of the slip road, at its junction with the roundabout, while the Audi was parked on the roundabout.
Traffic in the area was already busy as thousands of people made their way to the Black Isle Show in Muir of Ord, and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, taking place near Beauly, which started yesterday and runs until Sunday.
Meanwhile, traffic was disrupted on the A82 Inverness to Drumnadrochit road yesterday morning after a vehicle broke down near Lochend, leaving the road partially blocked in both directions.
