Halloween in Inverness: Road closures you might need to know

Highland Council has issued a list of temporary traffic restrictions as part of the arrangements for the city’s Ness Islands Halloween Show this weekend.

The closures will affect vehicles, but pedestrian access and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be available using part of Bught Road, Bught Lane, Bught Drive, Bught Avenue, Glenurquhart Road, Bishop’s Road, part of Ness Walk, Ballifeary Lane and Ballifeary Road.

Temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced on the following roads between 5pm and 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.

• Ness Walk, Inverness, closed to northbound traffic between its junction with Ballifeary Lane and its con-junction with Bught Road. Vehicular access for southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

• Bught Road, Inverness, closed to northbound traffic between its con-junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Bught Avenue. Vehicular access for southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

• Bught Road, Inverness, closed between its junction with Bught Avenue and its junction with the access to the ‘Highland Archive Centre’. Access for parking will be controlled by personnel employed by the event organiser.

• Bught Avenue, Inverness, closed to southbound traffic between its junction with Bught Lane and its junction with Bught Road. Vehicular access for northbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

People attending the Inverness Ness Islands Halloween Show are encouraged to use city centre car parks and walk to the event.

There will be parking for Blue Badge holders.
