JD Wetherspoon has applied for a certificate of lawfulness to convert a car park beside their Kings Highway pub into a beer garden.
The £100,000 redevelopment will cater for about 40 customers.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershorn said: “The Kings Highway is a very popular pub and we are always keen to offer our customers the best facilities possible.
“We believe that a beer garden will be a great addition for the pub and be welcomed by its customers.
“The project is subject to planning approval, so there are no on site dates as yet.”
