Police in Inverness are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the South Kessock area of the city.
The 36-year-old received treatment at Raigmore Hospital for injuries to his head and face after he was attacked by two men.
The incident which happened between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday.
Reporting officer Detective Constable Gordon said: “The victim was walking from Thornbush Road towards Carnac Crescent at the time of the assault and I would urge anybody who was in these areas on Sunday evening to contact us as soon as they can.
“Any details you have, no matter how small they may seem, could prove helpful.
“Anybody with information about what happened is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference NN31937/17, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they prefer to remain anonymous.”
