Inverness police are appealing for information after a reported sexual assault on a woman within a property in the Dalneigh area of the city.
The incident happened around noon on Sunday in the Montague Row area.
Enquiries have been ongoing since that time and officers are keen to speak to a man seen walking from the city centre area towards Dalneigh shortly before the incident.
He is described as being middle aged, of skinny build with short dark hair. He was wearing a red jacket, baseball cap, black trousers and black trainers.
He is believed to have been walking with a woman who was wearing a long green coat.
Detective Inspector Eddie Ross said: “This was a particularly distressing incident. The victim was uninjured but has been understandably extremely shaken by what happened.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would like to reassure the public that we are working to identify the individual responsible.
“I am appealing to anyone who has information which could help our investigation to come forward. You may have seen the individuals described but thought nothing of it at the time.
“You can call us on 101, using reference NN5578/18, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you prefer to pass on what you know anonymously.”
