Sheriff officers have visited the illegal travellers camp in Inverness as part of efforts to evict them.
Highland Council has started legal proceedings against the community, which has been resident at a popular football pitch and playing fields in Dalneigh.
Around 15 caravans have been parked on the greenfields behind St Valery Avenue since Tuesday.
The group has so far ignored requests to leave the council-owned land.
However two sheriff officers were seen at the site this morning. They went to several caravans and spoke to the travellers.
A Highland Council spokeswoman said they were liaising with the travellers.
