Man dies after one vehicle crash south of Inverness

A man has died after a one vehicle road accident near Inverness.

The 25-year-old was a passenger in an orange Ford Focus RS which was involved in the collision shortly before 7am today.

The driver was also taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance for treatment for serious injuries.

A collision investigation is still ongoing at the scene and the road remains closed.

Road policing sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: “Sadly a man has died in this collision and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

“A collision investigation has been ongoing and I would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.”

“We would ask that anybody who saw the vehicle on the B851 before the collision gets in touch on 101.”
