It will be a catwalk with a difference, where every model has been affected by cancer.
Hosted by Cancer Research’s Black Isle branch, entertainment on on Friday June 8 will also include singing from Scottish singer Fiona Kennedy, the daughter of the late famous Scottish Gaelic singer Calum Kennedy.
Ahead of the event Donna Smith, the event organiser, said: “The ladies involved are so looking forward to it and it is giving everybody a tremendous boost.
“It’s going to be a very emotional night with a very happy and positive atmosphere around the venue.
“We are very thankful to our sponsors who have been very supportive the charity over the past two years and we have had a lot of interest because Fiona is performing. We are delighted she is joining us and supporting a great cause.”
The clothing for the event has been donated by Brambles Fashion Shop and Ink and Pink, both from Nairn.
Fiona Kennedy said: “I’m really looking forward to it, a huge amount of work has gone into the event from the organising committee and I am absolutely delighted to be part of something which is helping aid the research necessary.
“So many people suffer from cancer and it touches each of us and our families in different ways so all these local events and fundraisers really make the difference.”
Nils Elders, an Aberdeen based musician, producer and composer will join Fiona in providing an acoustic session to those attending.
Ms Kennedy added: “I think these ladies are brilliant for taking part and inspiring others. It can be a very lonely journey and a life changing situation but I think it is going to be an emotional and very uplifting evening.
“Because of these ladies it is going to be a very inspiring evening.”
The event, which begins at 7:45pm at the Jurys Inn in Inverness, has been sponsored by Tulloch Homes and Korrie Plumbing and Heating. Tickets are priced at £12.50 and are available from Caffreys, the Eastgate Centre and Jones Card Shop.
