An appeal for information has been launched after a woman was assaulted in the Kenneth Street area of Inverness.
The incident happened near the junction with Tomnahurich Street, around 4am on Tuesday.
Officers want to speak to a man seen in the area around that time.
He is described as being about 6ft tall, of slim build and aged between 40 and 50, with short dark hair, a blue fleece and black trousers.
Police are also looking to trace the driver of a red taxi which collected the woman shortly after this incident.
Sergeant Craig Stuart said: “The lady involved was uninjured but was understandably upset by this incident.
“We are liaising closely with her regarding this incident. Unprovoked incidents of this nature are uncommon in Inverness which makes this particularly disappointing.
“I can reassure the local community that all efforts are being made to identify and trace the person responsible.
“I would appeal for anyone with information about the incident, whether you were in the area at the time or recognise the description provided, to please get in touch.”
“You can contact police on 101 quoting incident NN7240/18 or via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
