A fire service spokesman confirmed that four appliances were at the scene. He said: “Four hose reel jets and six breathing apparatus were used. “The area ladder platform is in use cutting away the roof.” A police spokesperson said: “The fire was in the loft space. “There were no people in the properties – or the neighbouring properties – at the time.” An ambulance was also on the scene but no major injuries were reported.
