An employment tribunal which heard how pilots were allowed to fly unserviced aircraft out of a north training school on two occasions has unexpectedly finished a day early.
Highland Aviation Training Ltd boss William Roomes said that Emily Barclay should have spotted that both aircraft – flown by a student and a visiting instructor respectively – needed servicing.
But Miss Barclay told the tribunal in Inverness the responsibility of servicing planes should fall to the pilot and engineers – a point which tribunal judge James Hendry acknowledged.
She had been claiming unfair dismissal from the firm and was expected to give her evidence yesterday morning.
But a spokeswoman at the Aberdeen Tribunal Hearing Centre confirmed that the tribunal had finished, a day earlier than expected, although she was unable to provide details of how and why.
Highland Aviation Training Ltd was contacted yesterday but failed to respond.
Unexpectedly early finish for Inverness employment tribunal
