Highland Council have announced the appointment of eight head teachers and four acting head teachers across the region.
Many of those that accepted the new roles were already employed at schools in the north.
For example Hannah Flavell who will take over as the head of Thurso Academy was previously the depute head teacher.
Others were Jacquie Budge, once the head at Crossroads Primary School in Dunnet, and will now lead Miller Academy.
Fiona Macleod was the acting head teacher at Keiss Primary in Caithness and will be the head at Halkirk and Reay Primary Cluster.
Beth Rodgers has been appointed as head teacher at Bishop Eden Primary after being acting head there.
Gavin MacLean takes over as rector at Fortrose after having been at Millburn Academy and he will be replaced there by Johnny Croall as acting head teacher.
Gordon Stewart was promoted to head teacher at Charleston Academy having been depute rector and Scott Callander has been appointed as Drakies Primary head teacher making a move up from Ayrshire.
Martine Kelly has been given the job of head teacher at Croy Primary, Mina Johnstone and Julie MacLeod have been appointed as Acting head teachers in a job-share at Balnain Primary.
Suzanne Dunbar has swapped Crown Primary to be acting head teacher at Farr Primary.
They will be in place for the start of the new term in August.
