A 16-year-old schoolgirl phoned the police after she saw one man threatening another with a knife.
Ross Grant, of Bruce Gardens, Inverness, had been spotted in Dochfour Drive by the teenager looking into a car which had wood sticking out of it.
But Inverness Sheriff Court was told that when Grant, 31, was challenged by the vehicle owner, Grant produced a knife from his sock.
Grant had originally gone on trial denying behaving in a threatening manner and possessing a knife in a public place in Dochfour Drive on June 12 last year.
However, he changed his not guilty plea after the girl’s evidence and sentence was deferred for a background report until August 23.
