Police in Inverness are appealing for information after a vehicle was found on fire in woodland near Nairnside.
The car – a Toyota Rav 4 – was founded alight in a wooded area near the bridge over the River Nairn between Nairnside and Castleton near Inverness around 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and nobody was injured.
Officers who are wishing to speak to a man seen in the area at the time, described as being in his early 20s, tall with dark hair and wearing black clothing.
He is believed to have left the area in an unidentified small silver car, which was seen heading in the direction of Castleton.
Reporting officer Constable Jonathan Stowe said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would ask anyone who recognises this car or has any further information to get in touch.
