Inverness Recylcing Centre was forced to close this afternoon following a fire in one of their compactors.
The fire ignited shortly before 4pm , leading the centre on Henderson Drive to close for the remaineder of the day.
The fire service recieved a 999 call in relation to the incident at 4pm, dispatching two appliances to the scene.
Firefighters are currently using two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.

Highland Council confirmed the closure in a post on social media reading: “#Inverness Recycling Centre is temporarily closed due to a fire. @fire_scot is in attendance. The centre will remain closed today for a clear-up. It will reopen at 9:30am tomorrow (4 Sep).”
