Police in Inverness are appealing for information after a city home had to be evacuated on Sunday morning after the front door was set alight.
A major emergency response was sent to the property on Rosehaugh Road, in the South Kessock area, shortly before 7.10am.
One occupant had to be helped from the house by fire crews.
Fortunately the victim was not injured but officers believe the fire was deliberately started and are now appealing for public assistance to catch those responsible.
Detective Constable Sophia Ross said: “We would ask that anyone who believes they may have seen individuals acting suspiciously in the area of Rosehaugh Road early on Sunday morning get in touch.
“Information can be passed to Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
