The first ever Lego League tournament in Inverness has been staged.
The event at Inverness College UHI on Saturday was organised by the Energy Skills Partnership and the Institution of Engineering Technology.

The north of Scotland heats of the international tournament saw young people from across the Highlands put their mechanical, building and computer skills to the test.
Pupils have spent the past few months designing, building and programming their robots using “Lego Mindstorms” technology.
Their robots took in a series of missions as part of an “into orbit” space themed challenge. Missions included negotiating difficult routes and lifting, pushing and manoeuvring Lego objects with accuracy.

Auldrean was the only primary school represented, with secondary school teams from Inverness High, Kingussie and Lochaber competing. Teams from My World of Work, a careers support programme run in secondary schools by Skills Development Scotland, also took part.
