A man found with injuries described as significant in Inverness town centre in the early hours yesterday sparked an intensive police investigation before police put his injuries down to a fall.
The 28 year old was found between 2.30 and 2.50 am in Fraser Street, close to the pub Hootenanny’s.
The street was cordoned off as police carried out their investigations.
Highland Council roads department was called upon to spread sand on the road.
During the afternoon, police announced that after considering every possibility, it appeared the man had had a fall and there was no suggestion of criminality.
They maintained their appeal for witnesses, appealing for anyone who was in the area around Hootenanny’s at the time to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident no 0703 of December 92018.
Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
