Firefighters in Inverness have returned to base following a gas leak in the city. One appliance was dispatched to Castle Heather Drive at 11.07am this morning following reports of a gas leak from a property in the area. Upon their arrival, crew members secured the area before gaining entry to the effected property to contain the leak. Neighbouring properties were also checked over by the force in a bid to bring the incident to a close. All teams have now left the scene after gas engineers deemed the area safe. Police also received a call from the fire control room at 11.57am making them aware of the ongoing incident.
