A major search operation took place at the weekend in an effort to find a 69-year-old Inverness man.
Paul George Tonberg was reported missing from an address in the Westhill area of the city on Sunday.
Both the Kessock and Invergordon Lifeboats were sent out at first light to search the coastline.
Local reports stated that Mr Tonberg was last seen at a lay-by north of the Kessock Bridge at around 6am on Saturday.
Official search teams were also out on foot around North Kessock on Sunday, while additional searches were organised by Mr Tonberg’s nephew Darren Landles, a former coastguard worker.
Police issued a statement stating that they were “anxious” to trace the missing man.
A spokesman said: “Mr Tonberg is described as 5ft 8ins in height and of medium-slim build, with short silver hair.
“He is believed to be wearing black trousers or joggers, a black heavyweight jacket with a red jacket on top, together with blue-grey and white trainers.
“Anyone with any information regarding the current whereabouts of Mr Tonberg or who believes they may have seen a male matching his description are asked to call police on 101.
A spokesman for Aberdeen Coastguard said Coastguard rescue teams from Cromarty, Nairn and Dornoch scoured the coastlines yesterday before the search was stood down last night.
