William McDougall, left, was last seen leaving his home yesterday

Police are appealing for help in tracing an Inverness man who has been reported missing from his home.

William McDougall was last seen between 10.30am and 11am on Monday, April 8 in the Culduthel area of Inverness.

The 54-year-old left his home address in his car – an electric blue Vauxhall Astra, registration WG13 TWP.

Officers are concerned for his welfare and would urge anyone with information which could help to come forward as soon as possible.

He is described as being around 5ft 9in tall and of slim build with short brown hair and a beard.

Mr McDougall was last known to be wearing a green padded jacket, grey jumper, blue jeans and brown shoes.”

Inspector Mark Czerniakiewicz said: “This is extremely out of character and we are extremely concerned for William’s welfare and would urge anyone with information which could help us to come forward as soon as they can.

“In particular we would ask anyone who believes they may have seen his car, a bright blue Vauxhall Astra, to let us know.

“We are working to establish where William may have gone after leaving his home address and any sightings of the car would be useful.

“If William himself sees this, please get in touch. You are not in any trouble, we just want to make sure you are alright.

“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting incident 2300 of April 8.”
