Four fire crews were earlier this afternoon sent to conduct an “investigation” at Raigmore Hospital, however, the incident turned out to be a false alarm.
Initial reports of the activated alarm were received at 11.55am, with crews from Inverness, Dingwall, Fortrose and Nairn paged to attend, however, all were stood down after the first crew on scene found the incident to be a false alarm.
A fire service spokeswoman had told The Press and Journal earlier today that crews were “en route to carry out an investigation”.
She added: “The incident turned out to be a false alarm with only one of the four crews attending.
“The remaining crews were returned after initially being sent, with a stop message received at 12.11pm.”
Only the Inverness fire crew attended the incident.
