A biker killed in an early morning crash has been described as an “adored” dad with a “huge heart”.
James Lynagh died at the scene of the crash on Culduthel Road in Inverness.
No other vehicles were involved.
Yesterday, the 33-year-old’s mother Rosie Mccann and sister Kerry Lynagh said he was “loved by many” and would be greatly missed.
They described him as a “doting dad” to eight-year-old Riley and thanked the Tain community for rallying around since news of the tragedy emerged.
The pair said: “James was an adored son and brother, and a doting dad to Riley.
“He was very much a Tain boy with a huge heart and we are going to miss him greatly.
“James was a bit of a party animal who really did live his life to the full. He was just a typical 33-year-old lad who was much loved by everyone he interacted with.
“He was such a humorous character and was very much a joker.”
Mr Lynagh was riding his blue Suzuki GSF600 when the accident happened near the junction with Temple Crescent at about 3.10am on Saturday.
His family said his passion for bikes had developed from an early age.
“He was known for his bikes,” they said. “He just loved them and grew up around them.
“James was also a great pool player and was Celtic daft. He was loved by so many and he will be greatly missed.
“The care and kindness we have been shown by the community in the past few days has been incredible and we are just so thankful.”
Friends also shared their tributes online, remembering the good times they had spent together.
Many of them mentioned his sense of humour, and said social occasions without him would “never be the same”.
Josh Macphee wrote: “RIP James, going to miss the laughs we had together and going to college and working together doing the welding with Craig Blakely, good memories.”
Alex Thomson wrote: “Shock to everyone. Such a good guy.
Ross Groves said: “RIP James Lynagh. Such a nice guy gone too soon.”
“You’ll be missed.”
Rhiannon Cunningham posted: “Rest in peace James Lynagh, you’ll be very much missed.”
Police closed off the road for several hours while collision investigators tried to piece together what happened.
Sergeant Chris Murray, from the roads unit, appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw Mr Lynagh’s bike beforehand to come forward.
He said: “The collision involved a blue Suzuki GSF600 motorcycle which was travelling towards Inverness city centre which left Culduthel Road near to its junction with Temple Crescent.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the motorcycle prior to the incident is asked to contact police on 101.”
