Two Highland primary schools have received praise in their latest Education Scotland inspection and review reports.
Beauly primary and nursery class and Deshar primary and nursery class at Boat of Garten were each praised for the effective leadership of their head teachers and their caring ethos and culture.
Beauly’s report also singled out the school’s positive relationship between children and adults and the children’s enjoyment of school and nursery.
Areas for improvement were discussed with the head teacher and a representative from Highland Council.
They included working on the quality of learning and teaching and increasing opportunities for children to lead their own learning.
The Deshar report identified class teachers’ commitment to learning and improvement as a key strength.
The school has been asked to continue to improve attainment and maximise the opportunities afforded by the planned new nursery building.
There will be no further visits in connection with either inspection.
