The Gathering music festival will return to Inverness next year with a bumper line up announced following the success of this year’s inaugural instalment.

The festival, which will once again showcase the very best traditional music, food and drink and crafts from right across the Highlands, will return on May 30.

The one day festival at the city’s Northern Meeting Park will be visited by the legendary Peatbog Faeries, who will deliver their mixture of traditional sounds and dance-floor hits that have been played in venues all across the globe.

The Peatbog Faeries will headline the 2020 instalment of the festival

Celtic rock band Wolfstone will join in The Gathering celebrations – and celebrating their own 30th birthday year.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will grace the main stage, with 2019’s highlight act Torridon also returning, alongside Blazin’ Fiddles, Trail West and Rythmnreel, with the final slot of the event secured again by The City of Inverness Youth pipe band.

The Gathering Festival is returning for a second year after the success on the inaugural event earlier this year

Promoter Dougie Brown said: “We are delighted to unveil the line-up for The Gathering 2020. We were completely blown away by the response to the first outing of The Gathering last May and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Inverness next summer for round two!

“We have an incredible array of talent in the Highlands and Scotland from musicians to food & drink suppliers and crafters and it is wonderful to bring them all together and celebrate the very best we have to offer.”

The inaugural instalment of The Gathering took place in June this year and sold out in just over six weeks.
