Primary one pupils in Inverness have helped plant dozens of trees as part of a climate change campaign.
Pupils at Croy Primary School were the first in the city to take part in the tree planting sessions, which will also involve youngsters from Duncan Forbes, Balloch, Ardersier, and Smithton schools.
Councillor Trish Robertson, vice-chairwoman of the council’s environment, development and infrastructure committee, was the mastermind behind the project and says she hopes the sessions will “make a point to show we have listened to their call.”
The project – funded by the area’s ward budget – come as thousands of people from across the country took to the streets yesterday to protest the issue.
