A court has granted a request to formally suspend the registration of an Inverness care home.
It will formally take place on November 8 to allow the owners of Elmgrove House Care Home, along with NHS Highland, to relocate the 23 residents.
Sheriff David Sutherland granted the Care Inspectorate’s request
Murray Macdonald, solicitor for the home’s owner, Eleanor Mackay, said she did not oppose the motion for suspension of registration.
However he added that she had been in the care home business for 13 years and had taken over Elmgrove as a business with “inherent problems”, saying some of the comens by the Care Inspectorate were incorrect and exaggerated.
He added that she had always tried to do her best for residents and it was a matter of considerable sadness for the current situation.
He said her concern was to her staff who were going to lose their jobs and the residents.
