Friends and family gathered today to celebrate the 100th birthday of Anjey Hall.
The former school teacher, who was born in Stornoway before moving to Skye, Inverness, England and Wales, celebrated the significant milestone as a small celebration event was put on at the Kingsmills Care Home.
Visitors travelled from afar, with Mrs Hall’s son Julian Pinfold and his family coming from as far afield as New Zealand.
Others travelled shorter distances with a special visit coming from Helen Carmichael, the Provost of Inverness.
Mrs Hall was taken by surprise by the gathering, saying: “I don’t feel any different than I did yesterday.
“Oh gosh, I have lived to be 100.
“It is really lovely to have everyone here today.”
