Terry Rooney, 65, was found by other walkers on Buachaille Etive Mor last Monday morning. With the help of Glencoe mountain rescue team, Mr Rooney was taken off the mountain by the Inverness search and rescue helicopter. Mr Rooney was a keen walker and outdoor pursuits enthusiast who often travelled to Scotland. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of his death are still ongoing, though there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. Sgt Deborah McCartney, from Fort William police station, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with Mr Rooney’s family. “Police Scotland would like to thank members of the public and Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team for their assistance.”
