Police are investigating after an 83-year-old woman was left “shaken and upset” by the theft of expensive jewellery from her home in Inverness.
The woman’s property, on Annfield Road, was broken into between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Friday.
The total cost of the jewellery taken isn’t known but an emerald ring, a Topaz ring and a brown pearl necklace were amongst the seven items stolen.
Detective Constable Joanna MacLeod, of Inverness CID, said: “The 83-year-old victim is understandably shaken and upset and we’re appealing to the public for any information they might have about this incident.
“A lot of the items were still in their original box so if anyone has any information about jewellery matching this description being sold, or if anyone noticed anything suspicious around the time of the break-in, please contact us.”
Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 1988 of January 3.
