Five Inverness venues have been shortlisted for the Best Bar None Scotland National Awards, which take place at the Dunblane Hydro on March 19.
The awards celebrate the very best venues in Scotland in terms of safety and best practice and reward premises that have gone ‘over and above’ in terms of improving safety standards within their premises and in their local community.
The five Inverness venues shortlisted are The Auctioneers (Best Pub/Bar), Scotch and Rye (Best Individual Pub/bar), The Chieftain (Best Hotel Bar), Angels Share (Best Newcomer and Johnny Foxes and the Den, which has been nominated for both Best Late Night Pub/Bar and the Social Responsibility category.
Robert Hogg, Best Bar None Scotland’s national coordinator, said: “The shortlisted Inverness venues are all very deserving and have shown a real commitment to raising safety standards and working with their local community to ensure everyone can enjoy a safe night out.
“The National Awards celebrate the top venues in Scotland, which have gone over and above in terms of improving safety and social responsibility.
“Inverness has reported a record number of applicants, while Lochaber ran a Best Bar None Scheme for the first time.
“Individual Best Bar None venues have also been making a real difference within their local communities, from launching non-spike beer mats and ICE (In Case of Emergency) cards in Edinburgh, getting Naloxone training in East Ayrshire and making a commitment to ‘Green Tourism’ to reduce, reuse and recycle in Inverness, to going out and working with street pastors in Glasgow.”
