A north clothing boutique has branched out into a new product to help those struggling to find basic supplies.
Maggie Blyth in Inverness has made an offer fashionistas can’t refuse – any shopper bringing in a full pack of toilet rolls to the store will receive a £20 voucher to spend in the boutique.
The loo rolls will then be donated to a local food bank for those most in need who cannot always make it to the supermarket or afford to bulk buy.
On a Facebook post, the owners wrote: “Let’s keep that community spirit alive.
In an update after the announcement, the boutique’s page revealed that 42 rolls had been dropped off on the first day, and not all customers were taking the voucher in return.
The page read: “To all our lovely customers… Please keep sharing our post. We will deliver daily to the food bank. You are awesome.
“We will continue collecting for the rest of the week but drop it off daily as I’m sure there are people who urgently need it.
“We are feeling the love – thank you. Truly humbling.”
Fans on Facebook praised the store, with Angus Grant posting: “Such a great thing that you’re doing.” and Julie Macinnes adding: “Caring is sharing”.
