Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club have been left outraged following a string of thefts at their stadium.
Thieves have stolen a number of car batteries from vehicles parked at the city club and several nearby businesses, as well as attempted thefts to the club’s outbuildings.
The incidents are understood to have taken place in the early hours throughout the course of the week.
Chief executive Scott Gardiner said he was “angry” for the disregard and actions of thieves.
He said: “This has been over the course of a few nights. We weren’t always noticing and then we realised hold on a second, someone has tried to saw their way through something.
“They have been steeling car batteries from the vehicles parked here. They are breaking into the cars first, then they are disabling them by taking various things from them.
He added: “It causes a lot of grief, it causes a lot of expense and hassle and people need their vehicles.
“It’s more than just disappointing, we are very angry about it. We are working on a plan to get through this and get our players, staff and business through it.”
As police launch an investigation into the incidents, the Inverness-based club have now reviewed their security to help minimise future incidents.
He said: “We have looked at upping our security which we have done and various different security measures. Our CCTV is now trained on all areas that we know that have attempted before and now there is an ongoing investigation from the police.”
