A person has been rescued from a house in Inverness this afternoon after a fire broke out in the garden and spread indoors.
The incident was first reported to fire control at 12.47pm with three crews from Inverness sent to Carnarc Crescent in South Kessock.
The casualty is being treated for possible smoke inhalation.
There have been no further reports of anybody injured.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We were called to an incident at Carnarc Crescent in Inverness.
“A fire had been reported at the rear of the property and had spread into the building.
“We mobilised three pumps with two jets, two hose reel jets and four breathing apparatus in use.
“There is one casualty with possible smoke inhalation.”
One crew has since departed the scene with the remaining fire crews dampening down hotspots and cutting away damaged areas.
Samantha Gibson could see the fire from her upstairs window and recorded the blaze as fire crews used hoses to put out the flames.
She said: “I was woken with the sound of the fire brigade outside and then checked the window, seen the fire engines and so much smoke.
“It was crazy and I started to panic.
“It seemed like the whole garden was on fire and my first thought was the people and their kids and pets, if they were okay or not.”
The two crews are expected to remain on scene until around 5pm.
