A family whose house and possessions were destroyed in a fire have been sent offers of help from neighbours.
The blaze started in Carnarc Crescent in the South Kessock area of Inverness on Tuesday.
At the height of the fire, flames could be seen reaching more than 10ft into the air in the back garden – which was left destroyed along with a shed.
The family of two adults and four girls were able to escape to safety and did not require medical treatment.
People living in the area responded to news of the fire with offers of help. The South Kessock Residents Association also urged the family to get in touch if they needed any support.
Merrin Avis, the association chairwoman, said: “We have had a lot of offers of help. Everyone, particularly at the moment, can understand how traumatic this would have been for them.
“I believe the family has been re-housed. However, we just wanted to see if there was anything we could do to help and people are more than happy to pitch in to provide support if it’s needed.
“Throughout the community, everyone is sending their best wishes and hoping everyone is safe. I don’t know the family personally but we just want them to know we are here to help if they need it.”
She said the offer extends to people in neighbouring properties who may have been affected by the fire.
Local councillor Bet McAllister said: “This was a horrific fire and I’m thankful everyone managed to get out safely.”
The fire started about 12.30pm on Tuesday and three fire crews attended, some wearing breathing apparatus. Teams remained at the scene for several hours to help bring it under control.
A police spokesman said: “The family who were all within the property were able to leave safely and did not require any medical treatment.
“Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have seen, heard or recorded anything in relation to this incident to contact them.”
Witnesses are asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they would prefer to remain anonymous.
