An Inverness pub owner has assured customers he is gearing up for reopening.
Johnny Foxes, located on Bank Street, has announced it will reopen for “alfresco drinks and light dining” on July 1.
Owner Don Lawson said: “Our pubs may look different when they reopen, but they will be as welcoming as ever.
“We are busy making preparations, and we await government guidelines.
“The industry and trade associations are currently lobbying to bring in a one-metre distancing rule, in place of the current two-metre regulation.
“The World Health Organisation recommends a one-metre rule, which has been adopted by most European countries.
“We will ensure of course that we are fully compliant with social distancing regulations.”
Mr Lawson added that in addition to social distancing measures, staff will be providing table service for all food and beverage.
Opening times will be noon until 11pm.
No timescale has yet been set for easing lockdown restrictions on the hospitality industry in Scotland.
It is expected that outdoor spaces at pubs and restaurants will be reopened in phase two, with physical distancing and increased hygiene measures in place.
And it will not be until phase three that bars and restaurants will be able to welcome customers inside.
Every three weeks, the Scottish Government will review its lockdown measures and see if Scotland can transition into the next phase.
