Construction works on the controversial My Ness public art project will recommence today.
Work on the River Ness Art Project was halted, like many city projects, due to the Covid-19 pandemic back in March.
Now as contractors return to work, ground works are officially underway.
The next phase will include the drilling of a maximum of three bore holes to enable the completion of the structural calculations.
The works are expected to take a matter of days in preparation for the artwork to be installed on site in August or September.
Completion of the project is expected to take around 12 weeks.
Chair of the Working Group, councillor Isabelle Mackenzie said: “This significant public art project aims to create a major new visitor destination along the banks of the River Ness in Inverness. As has been agreed through meetings of the City of Inverness Area Committee. Their input has been invaluable allowing us to proceed with the enhanced disability access.
“We look forward to see work starting on the installation very soon, especially at a time when we are beginning to emerge from lockdown and valuable construction works are able to get underway, and thank the project team for all the work to progress us during this stage.”
